Moments when I fell in love:
1. The first time i listened to Jack Johnson’s discography
2. When i listened to Ben Howard’s Every Kingdom at the most appropriate time
3. Being so enraptured by Jason Silva’s perspective on Love
4. Going to Gulp Juicery for the first time (haha! Yes this!)
5. Eating Brownie Madness for the first time.
6. Watching Richard Linklater’s movies.
7. Being at the most scenic view. Along the beach, among the stars, a moon. an islet, family.
8. The moment i really see my iPod, feel my headphones, choose my songs, and know that YES, these are the things i splurge on. YES, these are the things i am greatly interested with.
9. When my brother handed me the Grey’s Anatomy Season 1 dvd. I didn’t expect he would actually give me casual ‘gifts’
10. When my sister saved her cheese stick cause she she thought i’d like it.
11. My mom in tears cause she’s proud of me.
12. Papa’s poem and stories.

Moments when i knew i was in love:
1. Riding through Dubai, realizing that it was the best time of my life. Not Dubai in itself but all the metaphors that came with that summer. The feeling of flight. The feeling of being who you want to be with nothing holding you back.
2. Seeing my parents trying to figure out something in my dad’s ipad. Knowing that, though they disagree and fight sometimes, they will always be them - my parents, together.
3. Being with my sister. Realizing that the little girl you saw grow could be at par with you, a person who you could share an experience with.
4. Conversations with my brother. We grew up together and its nice to see how we came to be. In some ways very the same, but in a lot of ways very different.
5. Eating with my friends, mentally stepping out and realizing - these are my people. We belong to each other’s company, we understand each other, and profoundly know each other.
6. It was my lola’s birthday, and i was pushing her wheel chair up the ramp. Then her son called up behind us. And there they were, my lola’s offsprings and their offsprings, all of them looking at her with that spark of content in their eyes. I took a mental picture of that exact moment. I thought, if i would be old, and this were my offsprings i would think “this is all i ever wanted in life.”
7. When nanay (our help) died and i wept at her wake when her colleagues were telling stories of her.
8. When our extended family (of another side of the family) was together, and the space and time was just full of joy, warmth, family and love.
9. Excelling and being recognized at something that matter/means a lot for me.
10. Writing a letter to my best friend. Telling her how she was an answered prayer.
11. Catching up with old friends. Knowing they’re never really “old” friends, but friends for good.
12. Epiphanies. Life is a metaphor of love. Love is the soul of creation. Freedom is timshel. Happiness is when thou may live truth in love. To be alive is to realize love. Human existence is the manifestation of consciousness. To live is to be.
13. Being in the middle of a river, against its strong current, among nothing but nature. Having the deep epiphany and understanding that truly, God’s love holds us in existence.

When i thought of this, certain moments instantly popped up my head, so i thought of actually writing this. But, as i was writing this, i realized the list my never end, i just kept on adding things. Maybe, this is just a way to recognize love, not fully encapsulating it (as we really never could). View high resolution

“I particularly enjoy the random poetry of these books and catalogs, and their listings and names often make their way into my titles.”
